ATC Information
The Air Training Corps is part of the Air Cadet Organisation, which encourages an interest within young people in aviation, adventure training, leadership and sport. The Air Cadets is also a great place to meet new friends and try something new and different! Welwyn Garden City Squadron is one of the thirty Squadrons or Detached Flights in our Wing (Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire). In total there are over 900 squadrons throughout the country!
The aims of the Air Training Corps are:
- To promote and encourage, among young people, a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
- To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
- To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship
